What to do if power points are not working, but lights are on?

If your power points are not working but the lights are working, you may have a problem with a faulty appliance which has caused the safety switch to trip.

What is a safety switch?

A safety switch protects people from electric shock. A safety switch monitors the flow of electricity through a circuit and it will turn off the power if a leakage is detected. It is a requirement that all power points in rental properties have a safety switch installed.
